On July 7, 2025, President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order extending the temporary suspension of retaliatory tariffs on all U.S. trade partners, effective from July 9 until 12:01 a.m. (EDT) on August 1, 2025.
This suspension does not apply to China, which remains subject to separate tariffs under Executive Order 14298 (issued May 12, 2025), effective until August 12, 2025.
At the same time, President Trump sent official notices to several countries announcing new retaliatory tariff rates on all goods imported into the U.S. from those countries, effective August 1, 2025.

The tariff suspension applies to goods imported into the U.S. for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, from 12:01 a.m. (EDT) on July 9 until before 12:01 a.m. (EDT) on August 1, 2025.
